Every Saturday, each meetup starts at 17:00 ( 5 PM) and will last 2 hours and 15 minutes, and we will follow this structure,
~17:00 - 17:15: Meeting each other and introducing ourselves
~17:15 - 18:00: English language part
~18:00- 18:15: Short break, free time.
~18:15 - 19:00: Turkish language part
~19:00 - 19:15: Ending the conversation, sharing our thoughts and talking about the future of our meetups.
In both language parts our main aim will be to make learners get involved in the conversation by helping them to express themselves.
To begin with, we are basically two people organizing this meetup (Sinan and Naqqash) one of us native in Turkish and the other native in English. We are both very friendly, respectful and open-minded people who wants to improve their secondary languages. Also we love to bring people together, meeting with new people, learning and sharing.
We will meet in Işıklar Street which is also called “the Old Town”. This is a place that has a multinational and historical spirit , also, one of the most attractive tourist spots in the Antalya city center. Moreover, there are lots of transportation vehicles available in this place, so, it is easy to reach compared to many parts of Antalya.
When it comes to Leman Kultur Cafe, in which we decided to organise our meetups, it has a colorful and vibrant interior design with its atmosphere that evokes the feeling of freedom, plenty of comics on the walls written in Turkish which we consider that could be useful for our Turkish learners. Also they make unbelievably delicious Turkish coffee. They allocated their second floor to us, which is normally closed to their customers, so, we will be alone in a relaxed and quiet place.
We chose to meet on Saturdays because we think that most people are available on this day. If any suggestions come we can change the day. Also, we are open to any suggestions; at the end of each meetup, we want you to share your ideas about “how we can make this meetup better, what we are doing wrong, what we should do in our next meetups etc.” so, don’t be shy to speak up.
We have lots of native English and Turkish speaker friends in town and we will bring them in to our meetups so do not worry about not being able to meet some native speakers.
Those below 18 must come with an accompanying adult.
This event is completely free, but you should buy at least a drink to support the Leman Kultur, so they will continue to welcome us.
